Begin increases NOJHL scoring lead

Abitibi Eskimos have a pair of players in the Top 10 in Northern Ontario Junior ‘A’ Hockey League scoring following weekend action.

Marc-Alain Begin added to his league-leading totals and now has an eight point advantage on Sudbury Cub Jordan Carroll.

Begin has scored 15 goals and added 26 assists in just 13 games — an average of more than three points per game — to lead the league in scoring with 41 points.

He is second to Carroll, who has 16, in goal scoring, but leads the league in game-winning goals with five and is tied for the lead in power play goals with the Cubs Nick Esposto. They each have seven.

Team captain Richard Therrien is also in the Top 10, with nine goals and 12 assists, also in 13 games.
