Former NHLer Curtis Joseph is in the city with the heart of gold this weekend.

Joseph will be at the Timmins Rock’s game against the Blind River Beavers Nov. 17. The puck drops at 2 p.m.

“People can purchase a regular ticket to the game and enjoy Curtis Joseph dropping the puck at centre ice for a ceremonial puck drop. Upon completion of the game fans will have a chance to purchase an autograph and meet Curtis Joseph for a signing and photo opportunity,” said Ted Gooch, Timmins Rock president.

If you want to spend time with the former Leafs goalie, a VIP package to the game is available.

It’s $60 and includes private balcony seating with Joseph for the game, a signed 8×10 photo, food and drinks during the game, and a chance to win a Leafs jersey signed by Joseph. The tickets for this package are only available at Core Business Solutions. They can be bought until 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15.

After the game there will be a public autograph signing.

The cost for small items such as hockey cards, photos and books is $35 and larger items such as goalie masks, pads and photos 16×20 or larger is $50. You’ll also have the chance to take a personal photo with him.

The event is a fundraiser for the junior hockey team.

“Fundraisers such as these are crucially important to ensure the financial stability of the club. With a very large operating cost to run a Junior A Franchise we are grateful to our community for the support we receive to ensure we are successful,” said Gooch.
