Eskimos commit to Quebec City forward

IROQUOIS FALLS – the Abitibi Eskimos are pleased to announce that Tommy Labrecque will be suiting up for the black-and-gold for the upcoming season.

The 6’ 02” – 190 lbs. left winger has been playing Junior A hockey in the USA.

Last season, with the Trenton Habs of the NSHL, Labrecque tallied 51 points in 42 outings (30 goals). He was named to the league’s first All-Star team and represented the NSHL at the National All-Stars tournament in Las Vegas.

As an 18-year-old he earned 42 points (16 goals) in 38 games played with the Philadelphia Jackals (Jr. A) of the IJHL.

The Quebec City hockey product  is eager to join his new team this fall.

“I am a big wing offensive player, team player and leader in the locker room. That is what I want to bring to the Eskimos next season in the role of a 20-year-old player.”

Labrecque has maintained his NCAA eligibility and plans to attend Plymouth State University in 2014-2015.
