NOJHL names its Players of the Month for December

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Wednesday that Kaeden McArthur (Timmins Rock); Marcus Krats (Powassan Voodoos); Frédéric Cousineau (Timmins Rock) and Dylan Rousselle (Powassan Voodoos) have named its RBC Forward; Orendorff & Associates Defenceman; Skater’s Edge Source for Sports Goaltender and Journal Printing Rookie of the Month, respectively, for December.

RBC FORWARD: Kaeden McArthur, Timmins Rock – Amassing a NOJHL-high 13 points in the time frame, McArthur’s efforts has helped Timmins carry a 16-game winning streak into the New Year.

Skating for his hometown Rock side, the 20-year-old veteran scored seven times to pace all league skaters and dished out six assists, in five outings.

Four games shy of 150 in his NOJHL career, that has seen him collect 171 points, McArthur’s next goal will establish a personal-best 23 in a single season.

ORENDORFF & ASSOCIATES DEFENCEMAN: Marcus Krats, Powassan Voodoos – The 20-year-old from Labrador City; N.L., did his part in all areas of the ice for his club for the period.

Krats suited up in five games for the Voodoos during the time frame where he scored four times and helped out of four others from the back-end. Among his contributions was an overtime game-winner on the road against first place Greater Sudbury.

His efforts have seen Krats move into sixth spot in league scoring among D-men with 22 points in 26 games. He’s also tied for first in deciding markers with two.

SKATER’S EDGE SOURCE FOR SPORTS GOALTENDER: Frédéric Cousineau, Timmins Rock – Garnering the laurels for a second-straight month, Cousineau remains hot for the surging Rock.

Of those netminders who saw a minimum off 200 minutes of playing time this month, the 20-year-old Malartic, Que., product’s 1.70 goals-against average led the way, as did his .945 save percentage.

Having earned the win in each of his past 11 appearances, including going 4-0 in December, Cousineau currently tops all NOJHL goal keepers with his .930 save mark, while moving up to third overall in GAA, at 2.30. He has also allowed two, or fewer, pucks to get past him in 10 of those contests, featuring seven at just one.

JOURNAL PRINTING ROOKIE: Dylan Rousselle, (D) Powassan Voodoos – A solid run in the final month of 2025 saw Rousselle pick up eight points in six games for the Voodoos.

Hailing from Blind River, the 17-year-old blueliner scored four times and also aided on four others helping Powassan win five of six during the period.

The first-year rearguard leads all NOJHL rookie defencemen in goals with seven and currently holds down fourth spot in points at 19 in the same group. One of his markers was a game-winner.
