CALGARY, Alta. – Sporting a very impressive 17-game winning streak leaves little doubt that the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) remain No. 1 in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Top 20 Rankings, released Monday.
Brooks has not tasted defeat since a one-goal setback on September 18 and continue to top the table in Alberta with a solid 18-1-0-0 mark.
Moving to No. 2 in the national Jr. A listing, which are compiled each week by an independent scouting source, are the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL).
Leading the way in the Maritimes, Summerside has posted a record of 9-0-1-0 in their past 10 and are 11-1-0-1 to start the 2021-22 campaign.
Sliding up to No. 3 are the Steinbach Pistons (MJHL).
The Pistons, under head coach and general manager Paul Dyck, sit in first place in Manitoba with 28 points, having gone 14-2-0-0, with both of their defeats to date being just by a single tally.
Meanwhile the Ottawa Jr. A Senators (CCHL) are slotted in at No. 4.
In a tight battle for first in the ever-competitive Central Canada Hockey League, the Jr. A Sens presently pace the pack at 12-2-0-1.
Completing the Top 5 are the Timmins Rock (NOJHL).
Even with a road defeat over the weekend, the Rock are still playing .833 hockey in northern Ontario to lead the way there in terms of winning percentage while registering a record of 12-2-1-0.
