Timmins Rock blue-liner Brendan Boyce reaches out to knock the puck off the stick of Hearst Lumberjacks forward Trystan Mughal during the first period of Sunday afternoon’s NOJHL game at the McIntyre Arena. The Rock followed up a 2-1 overtime win over the Crunch in Cochrane Saturday night with a 9-4 thumping of the Lumberjacks Sunday afternoon. The Rock will now play a home-and-home series against the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners on the weekend before beginning their Christmas break.

Brendan Boyce, of the Timmins Rock, fires a wrist shot past Cochrane Crunch goalie Zach Wickson for his fifth goal of the season during the second period of Friday night’s NOJHL game at the Tim Horton Event Centre. The goal proved to be the game-winner, as the Rock went on to defeat the Crunch 6-2 and keep pace with the Powassan Voodoos in the battle for top spot in the NOJHL’s overall standings.
