Prospects camp report

Nearly 40 players participated in the Prospects Camp last week at the McIntyre Arena inTimmins. The Camp was cut short due to weather related deteriorating ice conditions at the “Mac”.

Head Coach/GM -Paul Gagne, has invited several of the camp hopefuls to join the Main Camp which opens on August 15th at the Eskimos’ home rink – the Jus Jordan Arena –IroquoisFalls.

New York Islanders forward Mark Katic skated all week with the Eskis’ prospects.

 

2010 rookie sensation Erik Robichaud has signed a try-out contract with the Moncton Wildcats QMJHL

The Eskimos have committed to Greg St. James for the 2011-2012 season. St. James is the grandson of Gail St. James who was a standout defenceman with the original Abitibi Eskimos senior hockey club. Greg’s father, Tom St. James, is a former professional who finished his career in Europe following a successful stay in major junior and the AHL.

Assistant Coach, Marc Cashmore, supervised on-ice while Head Coach/GM Paul Gagne evaluated camp hopefuls from the stands.
