It will be the first meeting of the two rivals since Game 7 of the NOJHL East Division final at the McIntyre Arena on April 29.

A 4-3 loss to the Lumberjacks in front of 1,868 fans in that contest derailed the Rocks hopes of winning an NOJHL title and securing a berth into the Centennial Cup tournament.

So the Rock, fresh off a pair of wins over the Gold Miners — 2-0 in Kirkland Lake Saturday night and 8-2 in Timmins Friday night — will have plenty of incentive to continue their current modest winning streak.

Meanwhile, the Lumberjacks split a pair of road games to start their season, rallying late to edge the Paper Kings 5-4 in Espanola on Saturday after dropping a 5-4 decision to the Cubs in Greater Sudbury on Friday.
