GALLERY: Rock’s Renouf racks up 4 points in win over Canadians

TIMMINS, Ont. – Timmins Rock forward Karter Renouf racked up a personal Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League single-game, career-high four points in leading his club to a 6-2 victory over the Rayside-Balfour Canadians Sunday afternoon with 787 fans on hand at McIntyre Arena.

A first period frenzy saw Timmins strike four times to gain early control on the contest to send them on their way.

Tyler Gilberds started the outburst at 4:13 of the frame before Renouf made it 2-0 at 10:32 with his fifth goal of the campaign.

Coming right back, the Rock tacked on another just 25 seconds later when captain Derek Seguin added to the count.

The home side then capped off the scoring in the session, during a man advantage opportunity, as Riley Brousseau got into the act at 13:37.

It was more Timmins in the second stanza as they tacked on two more to go up by six after 40 minutes with Cameron Kosurko and Seguin, with his second of the day and eighth overall, adding to the onslaught.

Up a skater early in the third, Rayside-Balfour finally solved Rock starter Tyler Masternak when Avery Chisholm put the visitors on the board.

They then added one more courtesy of Oliver Smith at 8:14 as his seventh of the season rounded out the scoring.

Josh Dickson chipped in with a pair of assists for Timmins in the triumph to give him nine points in as many outings so far on the campaign.

The Rock also held the edge in shots on goal, by a 37-27 margin, with Masternak picking up the win while David Bowen suffered the loss.

With the result, Timmins wins their fourth straight while improving to 8-1-1-0 overall.

In defeat, Rayside-Balfour slipped to 8-4-0-0.
