Trio of NOJHL alumni earn OUA accolades

SUDBURY – The men’s conference of Ontario University Athletics has announced that three Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League alumni have been recognized with year-end awards.

NOJHL alumnus Greg Dodds was selected an OUA West Division second team all-star while Erik Robichaud was named to the OUA East all-rookie team and Brennen Dubchak earned similar all-rookie accolades in the OUA West.

Dodds is in his second year at the University of Western Ontario where registered the second-most  wins in the OUA with 14 and posted a solid .919 save percentage to go along with a 2.45 goals-against average.

He was named a first team NOJHL all-star and earned the league’s top goals-against average award back in 2012-13 with the North Bay Trappers.

Robichaud meanwhile, a former Abitibi Eskimos standout, picked up 23 points in 26 games in his freshman campaign with the Nipissing Lakers in 2014-15 over in North Bay.

In 90 career contests in Iroquois Falls with the Eskimos, Robichaud scored 64 times and added 71 assists for 135 career points.

As for Dubchak, he earned his place on the OUA West rookie squad by accumulating 18 points in 25 outings with the Lakehead Thunderwolves in Thunder Bay.

Dubchak was a first team NOJHL all-star last season amassing 84 points in 2014-15 and 135 in total, in two campaigns, in the league, which included being part of a NOJHL title-winning side in 2012-13 with North Bay.
