Tanner Adams became the second-highest Timmins player ever taken in the OHL Priority Selection at Kingston’s Slush Puppy Place, on Friday.
Picking third overall in the 2026 draft, the Brampton Steelheads selected Adams who spent the bulk of the 2025-26 campaign with Hill Academy’s U16 Prep squad.
Adams also (3, 0-2-2, 8) saw limited action with his hometown Timmins Rock, of the NOJHL.
Mark Katic, chosen second overall by the Sarnia Sting in 2005, holds the record for being the highest rank Timmins product to be chosen in the OHL Priority Selection.
Adams, a 6-0 and 202-pound right shot forward, had a dominant regular season with Hill Academy (50, 29-48-77, ) in 2025-26 and led them to an impressive OHL Cup Showcase run (5, 9-1-10, 24).
And he just turned 16 on June 3.
