COLLINGWOOD, Ont. – The Timmins Rock will be in Collingwood, Ont., next week representing Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League at the Cottage Cup Jr. A preseason challenge.
The six-team event runs August 31 through September 2 with the Rock taking on four Ontario Junior Hockey League sides and one from the Central Canada Hockey League.
Each contest will consist of two, 20-minute periods throughout the three days of competition.
Timmins will begin play Aug. 31 as they take on Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) at 8:20 p.m.
Next will be meetings versus the North York Rangers (OJHL) and the Milton Menace (OJHL) at 12:20 p.m. and 3:20 p.m., respectively, on Sept. 1.
They’ll then finish-up Sept. 2 with match-ups against the host Collingwood Blues (OJHL) at 10:40 a.m. and the Navan Grads (CCHL) at 2 p.m.
NOJHL exhibition action starts tonight as the Elliot Lake Red Wings host the Blind River Beavers in a 7 p.m. start at Centennial Arena.
League preseason games are slated to be streamed live on HockeyTV.com.
