Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) take over as No. 1 in CJHL Top 20 rankings

TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Monday that the soaring Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) have taken over as No. 1 in its latest Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade.

Flying high, the Golden Hawks have won 13 Ontario Junior Hockey League games in a row, while sporting an overall record of 24-3-1-0.

Slotted No. 2 in the national listings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service, are the Edmundston Blizzard (MHL).

After going 6-2-1-0 in November, Edmundston continues to top the Maritime Hockey League table, so far this season, at 23-3-1-0.

At No. 3 this week is another OJHL side, the Leamington Flyers.

Solid defensively, the Flyers have only allowed 55 goals-against in an OJHL-high 33 outings, which has contributed to their 25-5-2-1 mark on the campaign.

Tabbed fourth in the rankings are the Rockland Nationals (CCHL).

Rockland still leads the way in the 12-team Central Canada Hockey League with a 20-4-1-0 run to begin their year.

Meanwhile, sitting at No. 5 nationally are the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL).

On an eight-game heater, the Cubs have gone 22-2-1-1 overall to pace the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.
