NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that forward Michael Gallagher (Blind River Beavers); defenceman Felix Cadieux-Fredette (Timmins Rock) and forward Mathieu Comeau (Hearst Lumberjacks) have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending Nov. 13.

MICHAEL GALLAGHER, (F) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS – The 19-year-old from Northville, Mich., played a key role in in all three of Blind River’s wins during the time frame by having five tallies to his credit.

Gallagher scored goals in each of them, including a pair of multi-marker efforts, and notched two game-winners, helping the Beavers boast the second-best winning percentage in the NOJHL at .750.

Playing at close to a point-per-game clip, Gallagher now has 17 in his first 18 league contests. Also of note, Blind River has gone 7-0-0-0 to date in contests that he has had a goal.

FELIX CADIEUX-FREDETTE, (D) TIMMINS ROCK – Hailing from the nation’s capital, the 18-year-old Ottawa product did his part on both ends of the ice in each of the Rock’s victories last week where they scored 12 times and allowed just two against.

Cadieux-Fredette began by tallying twice and helping set-up two others in road triumph in Kirkland Lake, then assisted on the game-winner in an away win over Elliot Lake Saturday.

He has already matched his single-season high in points of 14 and Timmins has gone 7-1-0-1 in meetings in which he has etched his name on the game sheet at least once.

MATHIEU COMEAU, (F) HEARST LUMBERJACKS – Scoring in each of Hearst’s wins over the weekend, and dishing out three assists as well, helped pace the Lumberjacks offensively.

One of Comeau’s helpers came on the game-winner in the opening match-up against Kirkland Lake Friday as part of his fourth multi-point outing of the season.

The 17-year-old from Hearst now has a modest three-game point streak on the go and sees his hometown side sporting a 10-0-1-0 record in contests in which he has registered at least one point so far in the 2022-23 campaign.
